About: (note that links are mostly for my own benefit in the future!)

Suga's role both within the manga and within his team itself is one of support. He's vice-captain, all-round encourager, and second fiddle to his younger genius teammate. He's the guy to turn to when you're in a pinch; even if he can't do anything about it personally, you'll come away feeling good enough about yourself that a solution will appear. He's the leader of the sideline cheering squad. When morale is low, or the team's in disarray, it's Suga they call in to calm the pace and revive flagging spirits. The effect is obvious enough that even rival teams immediately notice the difference; one captain refers to him as 'Mr Refreshing' because of it.

It's also noted that he's 'indomitable'. The third-years in particular have gone through a lot of swings and roundabouts with regards to their beloved club, from crushing defeats to the loss of teammates and even the loss of a strict but skilled coach. Through it all they've endured out of love for their sport and their team. Suga's loss of starting position to a first-year hits him hard but at the same time he's relieved to have such a reliable person to take the pressure from him. His priority is seeing the team win, whether it's on his back or Kageyama's; what's important isn't who's individually on the court, but the fact that they make it to another game all together.

It doesn't mean he sits back and relaxes; if anything the change has given him opportunity to grow in ways he may not have been able to as the starting setter. If he wants to continue improving and being of use to his team, Suga's well aware that he has lacks to make up for and new skills to develop. Hard work doesn't faze him. Even selfish desires to be standing with his friends regardless of his underclassmen's superior skill are put aside, though Suga acknowledges them freely. He's very self-aware and realistic about his limits even as he continues to push them. Perhaps Suga's biggest skills are best developed on the sideline, anyway; from there he's free to observe and come up with solutions without having to immediately deal with the pressure.

While he's generally pretty mature in his role as unofficial team mom and official vice-captain, dutifully reprimanding those who need it (including his captain if it comes to that), Suga's got a tendency for ridiculousness when it's not harming the team. Among the third years he's known for bad puns; he'll encourage bad behaviour he finds harmless and funny, such as encouraging his underclassmen to pull out some dick moves during a game or unofficially sanctioning another's impingement on a training camp he wasn't invited to. He's known to be easy-going and pleasant and, maybe most importantly, sincere. It's part of why he's so easily able to boost everyone back up, and why his rapport with everyone on the team - even the problem children- is so strong: Suga will always meet you on a level playing field.

However, there's no such thing as a person who's immune to fear and fatigue. At times he's referred to himself as 'timid' or 'weak-hearted'. He feels every mistake he makes keenly, particularly when it has a direct effect on individual or team morale, such as thinking he relies too much on Asahi to power through impossible blocks. Like anybody else Suga gets nervous in a tight spot, or when he's trying things outside of his comfort zone, but he'll always persevere. It's partly his nature and partly habit at this point. When he's feeling low he can count on his friends and comrades to pick him back up, and that's a trust that allows him to put his best foot forward more often than not. He's fully aware that being complacent in life will only get him so far; even if that point is his fate, he's the type to push forward just to see how much further he might be able to go. Things like being 'refreshing' or 'indomitable' are only extensions of that.

Inventory: He'll be turning up in his practice gear with a sports bag of the usual stuff (spare clothes, towels, water, snacks), that sort of thing.
Feature Type: Suga will be gaining parts of a White Crow - notably wings, with some scaling around his fingertips.
What are your plans with this character? Suga's from a background where he's used to starting off sort of on the back foot, so I'm looking forward to adapting that mentality to this setting! Also, how many new kids can he adopt, that's the real question here.
